Recently, the first DN1800 ultra-large diameter rainwater and sewage pipe network non-excavation repair project in Southwest China was successfully completed somewhere in Sichuan Province. EASY-SIGHT provided high-power UV curing equipment, light curing repair lining hoses and full technical services for the project. It successfully helped the project overcome many problems and provided a replicable and promoteable benchmark solution for the renewal and reconstruction of urban underground pipe networks in Southwest China.
Project Background | |
This project is located in Daying County, Suining City, Sichuan Province. The pipeline to be rehabilitated is a DN1800 main sewage trunk line. After long-term high-load operation, the pipeline has suffered from deformation, siltation, cracks, and leakage, resulting in multiple structural defects. The project is located in a densely populated residential area, requiring a low-noise, low-disturbance, and rapid rehabilitation solution.
Pipeline parameters and technical applications
Transport Medium | Municipal Sewage Pipeline |
Pipe Diameter | DN1800 |
Buried Depth | 5m |
Repair Length | 56m |
Pipe Material | Reinforced Concrete |
Defects | Deformation, siltation, cracks, insufficient structural load-bearing capacity |
Repair Equipment & Materials | ZY-86 internal liner hose, X120-UVG UV light curing repair system |
Technical Challenges
The rehabilitation of this DN1800 large-diameter pipe presented significantly greater challenges than standard projects. Located within a residential complex, the site offered limited working space and was subject to strict environmental and noise control requirements.
Solution: EASY-SIGHT utilized silent power generation equipment to minimize operational noise. Combined with a fully trenchless rehabilitation process, this approach drastically reduced the impact of construction on traffic, residents' daily lives, and the surrounding environment.

The rehabilitation of large-diameter pipelines demands rigorous standards for liner production and resin impregnation. Furthermore, curing parameters—such as internal light exposure, temperature, and pulling speed—allow for little margin of error, while the installation and forming of large-sized liners are prone to issues like wrinkling and voids, making precise, comprehensive construction control exceptionally challenging.
Solution: EASY-SIGHT’s 14mm rehabilitation material is utilized; compared to conventional thin-walled materials, it offers superior structural rigidity and compressive load-bearing capacity. The resulting liner features excellent structural integrity, deformation resistance, and durability against aging. It effectively achieves true structural renewal of the pipeline, eliminates the risk of secondary damage, and significantly enhances the stability and service life of the pipeline network.

On-site Construction Highlights
1. Liner Insertion
A protective base sheet is laid to safeguard the pipe wall; the resin-impregnated fiberglass liner is neatly folded and lowered into the pipe at a steady speed via the manhole to complete the insertion process.

2. End Sealing
Once the hose is positioned, specialized sealing fittings are installed at both ends; the seal is secured by wrapping and tightening multiple layers of strapping to create a sealed chamber. The process involves an initial low-pressure inflation for pre-expansion, followed by a secondary stage of increasing and stabilizing the pressure to ensure the hose conforms perfectly to the inner wall of the original pipeline.

3. UV Curing
The adjustable-height UV light rig is inserted into the hose; the rig features a wide vertical travel range—capable of reaching diameters up to DN1700—and supports the simultaneous elevation of the light source, ensuring precise adaptation to large-diameter, deep-profile pipeline operations. The control system is then activated to retract the light chain at a steady speed matched to the pipe diameter, while internal temperature and air pressure are monitored in real time. The resin undergoes full UV-induced polymerization and curing, forming a new, high-strength structural liner within the pipeline.

Throughout the construction process, the technical team from EASY-SIGHT. remained on-site to provide comprehensive technical guidance—covering equipment operation, parameter control, process coordination, and quality acceptance—thereby strictly enforcing construction standards and ensuring construction quality.

EASY-SIGHT played a pivotal role in the successful execution of this large-diameter pipeline rehabilitation project, further solidifying its comprehensive capabilities in the integrated delivery of "materials, equipment, and technical services."
Moving forward, EASY-SIGHT will continue to empower the renewal and renovation of urban pipeline networks through advanced technology and high-quality services, fortify the safety of underground urban infrastructure, and contribute to the high-quality development of the industry.

Key Safety Inspection Techniques for Pipeline Inspection Robots in Complex Box Culvert Environments
Urban box culverts are critical components of municipal underground infrastructure, serving essential functions such as stormwater drainage, utility management, and underground space maintenance. Compared with conventional municipal pipelines, box culverts feature larger internal spaces and more complex operating environments. Due to poor ventilation and confined conditions, manual inspections often involve significant safety risks.
