Recently, the T300 tracked all-terrain drainage inspection robot, nicknamed the “Versatile Explorer,” jointly developed by the Hong Kong Drainage Services Department and EASY-SIGHT was presented as one of the department’s key innovation achievements at several major international exhibitions and official events.
Accompanied by the department’s official delegation, the T300 appeared at InnoEX, the Learning & Teaching Expo 2026, and innovation and technology activities celebrating the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland. At each event, the robot attracted considerable attention as a representative exhibit in the fields of smart infrastructure and smart cities.

At InnoEX, a professional platform for international innovation and technology exchange, the Drainage Services Department conducted a live demonstration of the T300 prototype.
The robot features an innovative tracked structure that allows it to switch flexibly between different configurations. It can travel smoothly across challenging terrain, including steps, mud, uneven channels, and obstacles.
Its advanced drainage network inspection technologies received widespread recognition from industry experts and international visitors, demonstrating the global competitiveness of collaborative research and development achievements from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

At the Learning & Teaching Expo 2026, the T300 “Versatile Explorer” was displayed as an educational exhibit introducing advanced infrastructure technologies to educators, students, and other visitors.
The robot previously received the Saudi Innovation Excellence Award presented by the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was also the first time that a department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government had received this distinction.
Through on-site demonstrations and educational presentations using the actual equipment, advanced water utility technologies were brought into schools and classrooms. This highlighted both the practical value of technological innovation and its role in promoting public science education.

During the innovation and technology activities celebrating the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland, the T300 “Versatile Explorer” served as an important example of cross-regional technological cooperation and government-enterprise collaboration.
The robot vividly demonstrated the achievements made by combining advanced technologies from mainland China with the practical requirements of Hong Kong’s urban infrastructure operation and maintenance.

The T300 is equipped with a high-definition zoom camera, laser detection and ranging devices, and a high-intensity lighting system, enabling it to collect comprehensive visual and spatial data.
Its innovative multi-configuration tracked drive system ensures stable operation across complex terrain. The robot can simultaneously collect photogrammetric information and point cloud data, allowing it to automatically create three-dimensional models of drainage facilities.
Thanks to its modular design, the T300 can also carry gas detectors and other sensors to monitor air quality in confined spaces.
All inspection data can be automatically uploaded to an AI-driven assessment platform for real-time analysis and the rapid generation of inspection reports.

The T300 “Versatile Explorer” being showcased at these major events represents an important step in applying advanced underground pipeline inspection technologies from mainland China within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It also supports the digital upgrading of Hong Kong’s urban infrastructure.
At the same time, the project provides an excellent example of government-enterprise cooperation, complementary technological strengths, and joint efforts to expand into the international innovation and technology market.
Looking ahead, EASY-SIGHT will continue to focus on the core requirements of urban renewal and underground pipeline network upgrading.

Does UV Light Curing Pipe Rehabilitation Reduce Pipe Flow Diameter?
UV-CIPP ultraviolet light curing repair will result in a slight reduction in pipe diameter, but this will not affect normal drainage and water flow: under normal operating conditions, the inner diameter reduction will not exceed 20mm, which complies with national standards; the lower water flow resistance of the inner lining wall can offset the flow loss caused by the reduction in cross-sectional area, and the water flow performance of the repaired pipe is actually better than that of the damaged original pipe. Combined with prior CCTV pipe inspection, differentiated inner lining wall thickness design, and standardized construction, abnormal diameter reduction issues can be avoided.
